Michel J. Klus, CAIA

 Founder and Portfolio Manager 

Michel J. Klus is the founder and portfolio manager of Synergos Capital Management, which he established in 2019. Before launching Synergos, Michel founded Rated to Roll, an enthusiast focused e-commerce platform for car enthusiasts. The platform developed an innovative rating system and set a new standard for industry-leading e-commerce transparency. 

Michel served as a Senior Investment Analyst, overseeing a $3 billion hedge fund portfolio at The Texas Permanent School Fund - one of the nation’s largest endowments. He played a pivotal role in building a direct hedge fund investment program in partnership with Blackstone and Grosvenor. Michel analyzed and recommended investments across a broad range of strategies, including long-short equity, credit, macro, commodities, algorithmic trading, multi-strategy, and others, helping to establish TPSF’s program from the ground up. 

Michel began his career as an Investment Analyst at Baylor University’s high-performing $1 billion endowment fund. His coverage spanned a diverse range of investments, including real estate, agriculture, private equity, hedge funds, public equities, and SWAPs. This role provided Michel with a solid foundation in managing complex, multi-asset portfolios and navigating various investment strategies. 

 Originally immigrating to Texas as a child, Michel has spent most of his life in the Lone Star State. He graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. His career has been defined by a strong focus on innovation, risk management, and delivering exceptional results for clients and partners.
